There was this time when I was unemployed for about 3 months (there were no Nursing jobs at this point if you can believe that shit) and me and a mate hired a Sega Mega Drive for a couple of days. The first day we played Sonic The Hedgehog for 15 hours straight. As well as a really quite sore trigger thumb, when I went to sleep I dreamt of nothing but that bloody hedgehog and that bloody music. All. Damn. Night.

33. EXPECTATIONS

I don't mind the new Bond films - Daniel Craig is an awesome suave killing machine (though I do contend that 007 shouldn't have his ability to shoot a bad guy in the head first time, every time  affected by a little thing like getting shot off a bridge) - but I can't help but think the franchise desperately needs more hidden Volcano bases.

Making 'NIGHT'

So this is the scan of my original sketch after I had inked it. I then whacked that into illustrator, saved it 16 times into 19 different formats and.....

...removed all the bits that aren't going to be white (or red) in the end picture. Once I'd done that I filled everything that wasn't inside one of those areas with black to come up with the end result which should be right under this post (or alternatively click here)

32. NIGHT

Interesting to do this one. All the black is basically me pressing 'fill' in Illustrator. I'd feel more guilty about this (like instead of painting it with ink and a brush I guess) but the drawing of the original image that I scanned presented enough of a challenge to reduce my guilt to a dull throb. Plus - these days - things like Illustrator can surely be put in the same basket as pens and pencils (particularly as the figures and composition are all mine and all hand drawn).

Fortitude: Courage in pain or adversity....And if you find yourself typing something along the lines of - 'Actually Matt. In the movie the Black Knight has both his arms chopped off before his legs so his arm would not actually be bleeding like that' - Then STOP IT RIGHT NOW and give yourself a swift uppercut you Python obsessed git (though I think you will find that the heraldry on his chest is quite accurate).

To the horticulturally adept among you who may be questioning the botanical correctness of this tree - I can assure you that the cartoon forest growing out the back of our house has several of these serenely overhanging the cute but gently menacing Witches Hut made out of oversized candy.

16. QUESTIONING

This was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Too many of my original ideas seemed to result in me drawing a picture of someone getting tortured.....which isn't cool (plus tomorrow is 'Blood' so I didn't want to go too hard too early). So instead, you get this picture of a girl asking the nice man what the time is............and why he has a tail (duh).
